The new Esterbrook Estie Nouveau Bleu pays homage to the early 19th century Czech artist Alphonse Mucha. He became famous for his idealized female figures that were often based on Parisian movie stars and celebrities, and his work included his years of studying, drawing and painting the actress and movie icon, Sarah Bernhardt. He used the color blue as with the aim of illuminating the skies, giving wings and surrounding with waves of water. The piece is offered in gold and chrome finishes. The body material is is a mix of Mucha blues and a highly polished finish.

Der Estie hat eine - für amerikanische Füller wohl üblich - recht harte also unflexible Feder. Das muß einem vor Kauf bewusst sein (mir war es das). Insgesamt ist er optisch sehr schön, aber auch nicht ganz so farblich brillant wie es bei den Produktbildern erscheint. Das Material ist teils durchscheinend. Zum Beispiel an der abgeschraubten Kappe scheint Licht hindurch, was leider den Eindruck von einem günstigen Material hinterlässt. Das Logo in der Kappe wirkt eher grob und unsauber. Der Clip ist straff, die Mechanik wirkt wertig und stabil. Der Korpus ist sehr schön poliert. Alles in allem ist es ein schöner Füller der auf den ersten Blick jedoch mehr beeindruckt als beim genaueren Betrachten. In dieser Preisklasse dürfte hier noch nachgebessert werden können. Trotzdem ist das Design für mich sehr ansprechend. Die Feder ist eine schmale M.
