Before custom your Nakaya piece, you should know that Personalized Nakaya pens generally require a minimum of four months to be produced and often much longer. A 60% non-refundable deposit is required for all Nakaya personalized pens. Orders for personalized pens are final and cannot be changed after the order has been placed.

NIBS

Every Nakaya pen is provided standard with your choice of single-tone solid gold 14k nib in Super Extra Fine, Extra Fine, Fine, Fine Soft, Medium, Medium Soft, Broad, or Extra Broad. The Nakaya double-slit Music nib is available for an additional premium, as are nibs with Two-tone, Pink Gold, Rhodium, or Ruthenium plating.

One thuing to keep in mind is that Nakaya nibs, like those of most Japanese manufacturers, are rated at about a size finer than their Western counterparts, i.e., a Nakaya Medium is roughly equivalent to an American or European Fine.

ROLLING STOPPERS

The original Nakaya Rolling Stoppers are created in cast silver and made available in eight different finishes and platings. You can also choose within a wide array of animals and objects. Nakaya Rolling Stoppers are specially created for each different pen model and that it may not be possible to swap an existing roll stopper between different pens.

PERSONALIZED KANJI IN MAKI-E

Any Nakaya ebonite pen can also be special ordered with personalized Kanji calligraphy on the barrel end made with Maki-e technique. Available colors are silver, black, red, and gold. The usual location for kanji calligraphy is on the bottom of the the barrel end, opposite from the nib side of the pen. Nakaya will then select the kanji characters for you, based either on a translation or phonetic transliteration.
