  • Frédéric François Chopin, born Fryderyk Franciszek Chopin (1 March 1810 - 17 October 1849) was a Polish composer and virtuoso pianist of the Romantic era who wrote mainly for solo piano. He has maintained worldwide renown as a leading musician of his time, whose "poetic genius was based on a professional technique that had no equal in his generation". Chopin's music, his status as one of music's first celebrities, his indirect association with political insurrection, his high-profile love life and his early death have made him a major symbol of the Romantic era. The cap ring features musical notes from his famous nocturne, "B-flat minor Op.9 No.1" together with the Montblanc logo. Chopin's signature can also be found on the back of the cap. The blue-coloured window, which appears on the barrel of the pen, refers to his "La Note Bleue".
